Elder Todd Glad Doing Great

Dear Family,
Between all of you I think i've talked a lot about how I'm doing and stuff like that.  Some experiences that I've been having, well this week we helped this guy take down a fence in his yard.  We also taught a lesson with him, one of the most powerful lessons that I've taught yet.  Another day we went out to Prague and helped the people get a horse corrall and I tried to ride a mule bare back but it didn't really work very much.  Then we helped them put it up back here in Shawnee.  Also there was this one family that called the church when we were there and we went out and taught them, oh my gosh I really shouldn't talk bad about people but, she said that when her daughter was 13 she was raped by her cousin.  She was pregnant but she lost the baby, and now she's 15 and pregnant again with her 21 or 22 year old boyfriends baby.  I was just blown away by that, I thought that was just a my about people out here inbreeding and stuff but there you go.  And apparently the legal age for that kind of stuff out here is 14, really stupid but anyways.  The other night we went to this one family's house that is going through the temple like this week, they showed us there pet ducks and I got a picture of one of there chickens on my shoulder but yeah its just been a crazy week with all that stuff and the earthquakes and everything just keeping us busy.  Well I'd better go but I love you all and I'll be writing with more detail this week in a letter.  But you guys should write me as well that would be cool.  I haven't gotten anything since I've been in Oklahoma so you guys are slacking.  Just kidding.  Love you all
Sincerely,
Elder Glad the second

Elder Todd Glad doing great

Dear Family,
Oklahoma is awesome, I know I was born in Utah but I was made for Oklahoma.  We're in a place right now called Shawnee, its a small town south east of Oklahoma City.  There are a whole lot of trees and the weather is phenomonal.  We have to wear suit coats if it gets above 60 degrees and we've only had to wear suit coats like once this week.  My companions name is Elder Karl and he's from Alberta Canada.  He's so awesome I don't even know.  He's been out for 9 months and I'm his second son (second trainee).  They say that he is the best in the mission field which is awesome.  He's really layed back which is good but we still work a lot.  We have 2 solid baptism dates for the 12th of November, we had 4 when I got out here but one of them dropped us and the other is in Utah till tomorrow, so we'll have to teach him when he gets back and we'll probably have to bump it back.  That first day that I got here we just went out teaching a lot of in active members.  Which is ok I guess, I'd just rather teach investigators, but there are a lot of inactive members out here.  Elder Karl says that if everyone that is a member out here went to church then the Shawnee Ward would be a stake.  So we're trying to work with them.  We've gotten 4 new investigators since I've been here, and that has just been through our own efforts.  One of the guys was just walking down the street and we stopped and talked to him, he said that his mom just died and that he was looking for a church.  Another is just this guy that said that he wanted to find out about different churches, and then there was this Southern Baptist that we spent probably about a half an hour or so yesterday talking to and we're probably going to teach him.  Then there was this hispanic guy that we talked to that knew very little english but Elder Karl's dad or my grandad, is a spanish speaking Elder, his name is Elder Frampton, and he's an AP now but anyways he taught Elder Karl a couple of things so we found out that he has a book of Mormon and that he reads it like every morning and there is the guy in the Ward that speaks Spanish so we called him and this guy is going to be at church on Sunday and he was very very excited.  Which is really cool.  Also Elder Haskell the Elder that got home sick in the MTC actually came out which is way cool.  Elder Karl's Spirit Brother is training him so that is awesome.  Yesterday at chuch is was really cool, it was this guys named Dakota's farewell and he's going to Carlsbad California Spanish Speaking, Just like Colby Anderson, so I told him to look him up.  Its really a cool story though because Dakota just got baptized like a year or maybe a little more than that ago.  Now he's going on a mission and he's the only member in his family.  Just a really neat story.  Well nothing else really has happened just keep praying for our success.  Oh yeah and by the way they call Shawnee the Promised Land because of all the baptisms so hopefully we can keep that up.  Mom I went and got myself some sheets with some cash that I had so don't worry about that.  The sunsets here are the most beautiful that you have ever seen I love them so much I'm going to have to get a picture of one.  We are riding our bikes a lot which is a good thing.  When I fist got to the mission home I went out with Elder Soto and Elder Forsyth and Elder Forsyth has sense gone home so that was his last day in the mission field but anyways he gave me some words of wisdom.  He said to never sacrifice personal study, and to bike more than drive.  So thats what we've been doing and it been great.  416 SW 79th Street Oklahoma City Oklahoma 73139 is the address of the mission home so go nuts with that.  tell everybody to write me please.  Well thats really all that I have for today you guys have a good one. Love you all and remember that the church is true and that Jesus is our Savior and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today.  Love you all
Sincerely,
Elder Glad, the Second

Elder Todd Glad in Oklahoma

Dear Family,
Well I made, it and I totally was not expecting to be able to email today but here I am, Sister Farayas, I think thats how you spell it is having her first interview with President Taylor.  Well I've arrived safe and well but I am really quit tired but I guess that is a good thing and it can also be attributed to waking up at 2 this morning.  Can I just say that I'm so glad that I'm not traveling still that would almost just drive me crazy.  Well today when I got here it felt like they were just throwing a whole lot of stuff right at me and expected me to remember it.  It kind of felt like the first day at the MTC.  It was good though, it was good.  Anyways after we went over all this orientation stuff some missionaries that are in the area came and I went tracting with Elder Soto, and Elder Forsyth.  We knocked some doors placed a Book of Mormon and got a return appointment.  Hopefully something comes of it.  People here are really straight up they will tell you that they are not interested at all and they already had their own churches. It was kind of funny it was my first time tracting and Elder Forsyth's last time, he leaves tomorrow.  That is just crazy I can hardly believe that.  Then I had an interview and then we had dinner.  Here is a picture of me with President Taylor and his wife hope you like it.  Monday is P Day and I love you all have a really good one. Love you all so much.
Sincerely,
Elder Glad the Second

Are you Always Glad Elder Todd Glad :)

Dear Family,

I leave the MTC at 3 in the morning, we have a lay over in Texas for two hours at 10 in the morning, Texas time I believe and the next flight to Oklahoma leaves at 12 there time, so I will most likely probably be calling then, I don´´t know what time that will be Utah time but I´´m sure that dad can figure it out. It should be really cool I´m super excited. Well this week well actually yesterday we had Elder Richard G. Scott come and talk at out Devotional, and then after it was over we went out the door that he was out and watched him drive away one of the neatest experiences that I´´ve ever had, one thing that he said that kind of took me by surprise is that he brought up marriage and how when we get home we need to set a goal to find our eternal companion, I was like ``Wow everyone here has just under two years, unless they are a Sister, to worry about that why are you telling us that now.´´ I guess that if you don´´t plan for the future then you wont end up anywhere. Lets see what else, everything is going good the language is coming along great. Just kidding, but actually I´´m learning a little bit of spanish from everyone else here learning spanish. Which is pretty cool. The only other person that is really writing me is Kaden Jackson, I´´ve gotten two letter from him, so tell everyone else to write me, I really want to hear from them. I actually did get an email from Carson so I would like you guys to send a email onto him since its against the rules for me to write to him. I don´´t know what else to say, Dad I don´´t know how to get your home teaching up I guess just pray and commit everyone to 100% then they will feel it if they fail. Sounds like everything is going well. LOve you all and hope that you are having success in all you activities. A.J. Sister Sara Rice says hi she is in my Zone here at the MTC really cool. Anyways love you all and hope you know I love you.

Sincerely,

Elder Glad the Second

I read A.J.´´s email bfore writing last week.

Also I don''t know if I told you guys but I will be going to the temple today, and I was able to also go last Wednesday so that is really cool. I also got one package through dear elder from Clint and Taunya, and I also got a package from Kristy, there was a lot of resses and a journal in the one from Kristy, and the one from Clint and Taunya, were Cinnamon Rolls. Which are pretty good. Well I don''t know much what else to say just that I''ll be talking to you on the 25th from Texas which will be pretty sweet, and hopefully I''ll be able to get you my mailing address then, but until then just keep smiling : ). ""Elder Glad are you Glad"" ""Always"" :-) Love you all and have a good one.

Why did the Chicken Cross the Play Ground, To get to the Other Slide. Hahahahaha. You''ll have to tell Emily I said that. Love you all and have a great week

Elder Todd Glad

Great letter From Elder Todd Glad

Dear Family,

so I only have a half an hour on my email time, so sorry if I don't answer any of your questions that you sent in you letters I'll probably print them off and answer questions that you had in some letters that I might write. Well anyways, today is my p day which is really cool, its been nice to kind of relax and take a step back from everything. I sent you a letter with a lot of details that have been going on here so be look for that in the mail, but right now I wanted to address some of the questions in your letters, For Angela and everybody else, I'm doing awesome, my companions all of them are pretty sweet they are all funny guys and love humor which is a good way to relieve som stress. The food is good but like I said in the letter it just seems to go right through me so thats not to good, I find myself on the toilet more often then I was at home which is kind of horrible but I"m working with it. The shot that they gave me was the TDAP shot, don't know what it stands for but it was a huge penutbutter shot that almost went right through my arm, I felt kind of like Captain America. Jk LOL I don't know if I had it before but it wasn't on the paper so they gave it to me so I had to pay for it. Thanks dad for cleaning the bathroom I'm sure Angela will appreciate it a lot. OH yeah and dad don't worry about the whole Temple thing it was probably for the best. Well life continues to move forward slowly but surely, they say after last Sunday that life goes so fast, but I don't think that I've noticed really that much of a change. Though I will be out of here is a week and a half so that is cool, but then I'll be hitting the big times. Sorry if I didn't answer your questions in this email I will write another letter I think this week before Next P-Day so do not fear. Tell everybody I said hi, and I love you all and hope that the work moves forward where you are because I know that it does here. Love you all and I'll talk to you later.

Sincerly,

Elder Glad,

The Second
